You’ve finally got that 10-pound walleye on the line, and you’re setting the hook!  You start reeling her in and your heart is racing.  You’re mentally preparing your “big fish story” when suddenly, the line goes slack, and all hope is lost.  Your fish cut bait…Oh wait – even worse.  Your line broke.  Aaargh!

Even our Pros will tell you – checking your fishing line at least four times a year, and re-spooling as needed – is essential for bringing home the fish!  Fishing line comes into contact with a variety of potentially harsh elements throughout the course of a season: sunscreen, sunlight, dirt, leech slime, bait scent, etc.  And most lines – even the more expensive brands - will eventually be weakened or corroded during a long winter in storage.

Take a little time this spring - and throughout the fishing season - to re-spool your line, and you’ll be writing a happy ending to your big fish story.
