How long have you been fishing?

I have over 50 years of experience with tournament fishing and outdoor sporting. After retiring from UPS in 2009, I’ve had the pleasure of sharing these experiences while teaching other adults and kids the skills they need to catch and care for fish. It is my goal to make fishing a memorable event that people will look forward to for the rest of their lives.

What inspired you to become a Lund Pro-Staff?

I’ve had many opportunities to use Lund Boats throughout my lifetime and as I pursued my fishing guide business, I knew I wanted to represent a company that provided the highest quality boat, such as Lund.

Can you tell us the largest fish you have ever caught?

I caught a 31.5 inch, 11 pound, 10 ounce walleye in 2010 in Ontario, Canada.

Where are you from?

I lived the earlier part of my childhood outside of St. Louis, Missouri but have spent the last 44 years in Wisconsin.

Where do you mostly fish and what tournaments can we see you in this season?

I primarily guide on Lake Winnebago (largest lake in Wisconsin) & Green Lake; I also fish bass tournaments from time to time.

What is the best fishing tip that you ever received?

To become a great fisherman, you must learn how to detect bites that you cannot feel. This is done by keeping a close eye on your line and understanding the type of bait you’re using and how they typically react to know the subtleties of a bite. When in doubt, set the hook.

In what ways are you involved in the community?

I donate numerous trips to churches and the United Way organization.

Passionate, patient, knowledgeable, energetic, and inquisitive.

What is the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever bought?

A machine that you put in the water to determine what color bait you should use - a bunch of us bought it and we all placed it in the water at the same time and each of us had a different result.

What was the best year of your life?

1974 which was the year I married my wife Diane.

What’s your favorite model of Lund to fish out? Why?

The ultimate guiding boat for me is the 1725 Pro Guide which is spacious and has ultimate boat control. It’s a great boat to fish and teach out of and I get continuous positive feedback from my customers.
