Laue Sets New Bar for South Dakota Smallmouth Bass Record Chasers. The new South Dakota state record Smallmouth Bass was caught on Lake Poinsett, Sunday April 27th, 2008, in a Lund boat captained by Chad Schooley of Castlewood, SD. Darin Laue (middle) caught the fish, Mark Larson (left) netted the fish, and Schooley (right), owner of the Lund 1850 Fisherman used to catch the fish, was driving the boat. The fish, documented and verified by South Dakota Game and Fish personnel, officially weighed 6 lbs. 9 oz. and was 20 3/4" long with a 17" girth.
Congratulations to all on the group effort and special congratulations to Darin on a great catch and a memory that will last forever.
